Incredible position available Construction company that performs work for Fortune 500 clients has an immediate opening in their Bakersfield, California corporate office for a Chief Financial Officer.As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the President and assume a strategic role in the financial management of the Company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day hands on responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, financial statement preparation, cash flow, investor relationships and corporate compliance and private and institutional financing.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Provide professional leadership of accounting department and personnel and provides staff development and mentoring.2. Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.3. Ensure credibility of accounting department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and forecasts and financial statements.4. Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization including but not limited to:a. Assist in development of annual business plan, profit projections and cost center budgets and monitor accuracy of projections of the company.b. Oversee and coordinate audits and financial statement preparation by outside accounting firm.c. Tax planning and oversight of outside accounting firm's preparation of all corporate tax returns.d. Provide timely financial reports to operating departments as needed.5. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action plans.6. Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.7. Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.8. Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgeting, inter company transactions and financial statement reporting for the company.9. Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.10. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution and will have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Chief Financial Officer preferably in the utility or construction industry. A CPA certificate is desirable.
