Position Information

As a Civil Engineer V in the Honolulu Board of Water Supply Capital Projects Division, Design and Plans Review Branch, this position is responsible for a number of complex and major engineering projects operating simultaneously where the problems of supervision and coordination are pronounced. This position performs difficult professional engineering work in supervising the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of civil engineering projects; supervises and performs the review of plans and specifications to assure conformance with Board of Water Supply Water System Standards; and performs other related duties as required.

Special Work Requirements: Assisting with project site investigations which may involve hiking through rough terrain and heavy brush; climbing ladders to inspect structures over 20 feet in height; and entering enclosed reservoirs, manholes and tunnels to conduct investigations. Minimum Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: One year of registered professional Civil Engineering experience.

License Requirement:

1. Current State of Hawaii registration as a professional engineer in Civil Engineering.

Desirable Experience: Supervisory and administrative engineering experience. Four to five years of professional engineering experience which includes project management and/or waterworks project experience.
