Position OverviewThe Construction Assistant Project Manager reports to the Project Manager and plans and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame. This individual is a key team member in supporting project and program management functions including planning and support, project setup and administration, program management support, records and data management, and technical editing and writing for project deliverables. The Construction Assistant Project Manager works collaboratively with clients, internal leadership, project managers, and technical staff in order to schedule work and meet project delivery expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to participate in the development of processes and procedures to support the rapid growth of the company with a career path to a Project Management or Business Operations Management position.Responsibilities Acts as an on-site representative for the company and represents the Project Manager on-site for daily direction of activities, subcontractors, and personnel. Manages safety, quality control, and administers project documentation as designated by the Project Manager and/or Program Manager Collaborates with senior managers and decision-makers to identify issues and meet client objectives Acts for the Project Manager in the development, creation, and distribution of project reporting and construction documents Assists the project management team to ensure the project plan is on time and accurate per the delivery schedule Assists commissioning teams in developing functional tests, executing performance verification tests, and other commissioning documents. Responsible for collecting, storing, and maintaining project documents including, daily safety logs, QC files, daily, weekly, and monthly reports, etc. Develops and expedites weekly on-site work plans with input from, program and project management Conducts on-site project meetings and distributes meeting summaries accordingly. Updates project plans and deliverables Collects and reviews closeout documents in support of successful transition and acceptance of projects to real property.RequirementsA Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is required, additional experience may be considered in lieu of educationAt least 5 years of General Construction Management, HVAC, Electrical, and BAS Construction Project Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Excellent scheduling and project database management skills Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA 1926 and EM-355-1-1 Safety procedures and documentationOSHA 30 hour safety certification Confined Space safety certification Fall Protection Safety certification Construction Documentation, Project Management, or other related certifications desired. Other U.S. Citizenship Required Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearancePhysical Requirements Carrying of equipment, drawings, binders, and tools, up to 40 lbs. Extend periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders Walking construction sites with uneven surfaces and in dust-generating environments
