We have an opportunity for you in the Greater Chicago area!Air Products is a world-leading manufacturer of industrial gases and has an immediate opportunity for a CONSTRUCTION INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN in the Chicago, IL area! This is a residence-based position with travel requirements up to 60% of the time.We require a very high standard of safety performance while performing activities at system or customer sites, and while driving company vehicles. Construction Technicians are among those employees with the highest exposure to our customers. We are seeking a Technician that will always present a professional appearance, confidence, and demeanor. Job Functions / Requirements:Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at or for customer sites.Read engineering drawings, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping drawings, and electrical controls schematics.Demonstrate safety aptitude and an ability to learn. Understand the properties, behavior, and hazards of the products they are likely to encounter.Show tried understanding of safe rigging and lifting procedures and demonstrate quality brazing techniques.Demonstrate and practice safe handling of hand tools and hand power tools typically and commonly used in installation and maintenance tasks.Exhibit basic project management skills, including where appropriate, equipment and materials selection, contractor supervision, system startup and operational readiness procedures, and accurate system technical and commercial documentation.Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel, InfoPath.Familiarity with piping systems, valves, tanks and equipment and cryogenic and gas delivery systemsPerform project management in the area of scope development, customer interface, and overall project management a plus.Knowledgeable in equipment selection, crane coordination, transportation scheduling, installation, startup support, contractor/maintenance tech supervision and customer training are keys to success in this position.Possess and demonstrate strong internal and external customer interface skills and aptitude, be an independent and motivated person, able to handle numerous projects at once.
