Job Description SummaryThe Facilities Project Engineer will be a member of the BD IDS Sparks, MD Facilities team reporting to the Facilities Engineer/Supervisor. The incumbent will support and coordinate new construction, renovation, maintenance, and space planning activities across the multi-function 6 building campus. The incumbent will communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to meet business needs and requirements. Focused attention on customer service, safety, and cGMP are required attributes for the incumbent in this role.Job DescriptionLeads and coordinates facilities improvement projects including initiation, design, preconstruction, construction, and closeout.Meet with stakeholders to collect needs and requirements and develop requirements documentation.Work with stakeholders and vendors to develop budgets for capital/expense planning.Prepare and submit capital funding requests including project narrative, budget, and supporting documents. Work with procurement team to issue purchasing documents.Review and comment on design drawings and specifications.Understands project constraints and works to manage stakeholder expectations to align with business goals.Work within cross functional teams to deliver project objectives.Coordinates and communicates with stakeholders throughout project life cycle.Participates and leads meetings as needed for successful project execution. Communicate as needed key project milestones, impact activities.Support projects and activities in meeting the Facility department environmental targets and sustainability activities.Maintain technical expertise in project management, construction standards, and safety.Keep abreast of existing and upcoming building code and safety regulations and inform management as appropriate.Contribute to the development of systems, standards, guidelines and tools to improve processes and project delivery.Assure cGMP practice and audit readinessIdentifies and addresses environmental, health and safety risks associated with projects.Assures contractors are adhering to BD policies and standards including compliance with site and corporate EH policies.Assist in the investigation of any major loss resulting from an employee injury, property or equipment damage, or impact to the environment. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONPrefer Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or business or equivalent experienceCertification in project management, facilities management, is beneficial.EXPERIENCEPrefer 2 years' experience in project management/coordination, preferably in a manufacturing setting.Excellent communication skills at all levels.Knowledge of general OSHA Industry and Construction Regulations.Knowledge of local and national codes and ordnances pertinent to facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance.Knowledge of standard computer programs and databases. Experience with CAD and document management.
