The Job

The Nanny's role is to provide customized, personalized childcare for children in the family's home. She/he will contribute to a safe, stimulating, comfortable environment that nurtures children's well-being and development. The Nanny builds strong, positive partnerships with the parents/guardians and relationships with the children. The Nanny plans and oversees activities designed to educate, entertain and build confidence with the children.

Major Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with parents/guardians to plan for activities and children's development
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities, encouraging fun, learning, and growth
  • Plan daily schedules, and work with children to accomplish the scheduled activities
  • Accompany children to play spaces, appointments, and when necessary, to school
  • Ensure adherence to safety precautions, and help children learn safe, healthy behaviors
  • Prepare meals and perform light housework related to the children's care, including keeping play and food spaces neat and clean
  • Assist young children to bathe and dress, including diaper changes for infants
  • Supervise homework with school-age children
  • Perform administrative tasks including managing a work schedule, communicating with families, coordinating with administrative staff, and participating in company programs and meetings

Experience

  • Minimum two years of paid experience working with children (infant to teenager) in a home, day care or educational setting; or at least 6 months of Sitter experience with College Nannies and Sitters
  • Some training in Early Childhood Education is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
