Seeking a skilled electro-mechanical technician to inspect and repair electrical and mechanical equipment and systems on commuter trains.

Must have at least 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical systems. Former railroad, military, aviation, and/or other heavy-duty electrical and mechanical shop experience is desired.


  • Inspect, test, maintain and troubleshoot propulsion, couplers and brakes, HVAC systems, door systems, communication, and public address systems
  • Perform FRA covered service inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on ATC cab signal and PTC Train control systems including
  • Read and interpret operating and maintenance manuals, schematics, prints, and instructions typically used in the position
  • Record completed inspections and repairs using the Maintenance management System and other software tools; complete written reports as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area


  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Ability to use shop tools and test equipment such as wheel true machine, forklifts, table-lifts, hoists, cranes, power tools, specialized measuring tools, electronic test equipment, laptop computers, and hand tools
  • Ability to comply with all safety rules and instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination
  • Must be able to pass the required training and examinations to become a Qualified Maintenance Person per 49 CFR 238
  • Must have the ability to comprehend, communicate and respond to instructions, orders, signs, notices, inquires, etc. in English
