Partner Energy is seeking a HERS Rater to perform all aspects of Home Energy Rating functions for residential new construction and existing buildings. The successful candidate will work with associates and management to pursue and execute various projects involving performance modeling, testing and inspections, code compliance, data collection and management for green building certification programs including the Home Energy Rating System (HERS), ENERGY STAR, LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, and National Green Building Standard. Partner Energy offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes competitive pay, medical, dental, and vision insurance, an employee assistance plan, a flexible savings account, company-paid life and short-term disability insurance, voluntary long-term disability insurance and other supplemental insurance offerings, a 401k plan with company matching, and, generous vacation, sick, and holiday time off.RESPONSIBILITIESPerform all aspects of Home Energy Rating functions for residential new construction and existing buildingsPerform whole-building energy modeling of multiple asset types including low-rise and high-rise apartmentsConduct feasibility analyses of renewable energy generation projects for real estate applicationsManage a team of associates, engineers, and subcontractors to conduct energy audits, energy modeling, and project implementationExecute a a portfolio of green building projects, delivering them on time, on budget, and with technical proficiencyMaintain target utilization rateAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPromote teamwork and champion company mission and valuesQUALIFICATIONSHERS or RESNET Rater CertificationBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or commensurate professional experience)Minimum of 5 years of experience managing green building certification projectsExperience conducting energy analyses of building systemsClient and project management experienceRESNET experience preferredExperience with Energy Star Homes, LEED-Homes, and/or Enterprise Green CommunitiesExperience with national low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) programs and third-party verificationExperience using energy modeling programs such as: RemRate, Ekotrope, EQuest, Energy Pro, and/or Energy PlusAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of Building Envelope and HVAC SystemsFamiliarity with CALGreen, Title 24 energy code, IECC and IBCMust be able to read, write, speak & comprehend EnglishExcellent verbal and written communication, math and problem solving skillsAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to adjust work schedule to meet deadlinesSelf-directed, organized, and able to work with minimum supervisionPassion for, and demonstrated interest in, sustainability and energy efficiency fields.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSVisual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screenAbility to climb ladders and stairsAbility to work outdoors and in unconditioned rooms on occasionAbility to travel approximately 25% of the time both in and out of statePosition requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.Partner Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
