Elderwood at Liverpool is searching for detailed & compassionate Housekeeping Aides (Housekeeper) to assist our very busy 160-bed Skilled Nursing facility in Liverpool, NY.

This is a Full Time Day Shift position (7:00AM - 3:00PM) position with an every other weekend rotation. Our Housekeeping team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing housekeeping support. In this role you will maintain the cleanliness of all facility areas, including but not limited to, resident rooms, common areas and offices. The salary starts at minimum wage but increases with verifiable experience.

Keeps facility environment in a sanitary, odor-free, attractive and orderly condition.

Maintains cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.

Vacuums and mops tile floors using proper procedures and appropriate equipment and solution.

Vacuums, wet vacuums and extracts carpeted flooring.

Cleans bathrooms by disinfecting, scouring, and polishing fixtures and replenishing paper product supplies.

Cleans furniture, window sills, doors, frames, baseboards, and handrails using appropriate materials and solutions.

Cleans and disinfects bed mattresses and frames.

Empties ashtrays and removes trash from wastebaskets.

Takes down and rehangs draperies and cubicles as directed.

Cleans and organizes lounges.

Washes windows and window screens as directed.

Reports any needed repairs in building or furnishings to Administrator and/or Director of Maintenance.

Assists residents with moving personal belongings and cleans and disinfects floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.

Follows safety rules, and where applicable, maintains vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.

Consistently practices infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.

Stores cleaning compounds and hazardous substances properly for the protection of residents and staff.

Collects and disposes of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard, nor a breeding place for insects and rodents.

Assists with the testing of new products or procedures when applicable; demonstrates cleaning procedures to new employees of the department.

Reports all accidents and disruptions of services to the supervisor and, when applicable, notify other appropriate personnel.

Performs any necessary housekeeping or unrelated activities as assigned in times of emergency.

Addresses residents appropriately and cordially and keeps information about residents confidential; respecting rights of residents at all times.

May assist with set-up and/or tear-down for events.

Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.

Arrives to work on time, regularly, and works as scheduled.

Recognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.

Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.

Supports and abides by Elderwood's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Abides by Elderwood's businesses code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policies.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.

Minimum 16 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred *Individuals under 18 years of age must be excluded from the usage of dangerous equipment such as: compactors.
