This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business.Job PurposeNational Grid outsources electric construction work across its US service territory. National Grid is posting a position to centralize the scheduling and planning of all electric contracted construction work. This person will be responsible for fielding all requests for work from multiple stakeholders within and outside of National Grid. Position requires gathering information on the projects and working with adjacent business units to schedule the work. The Construction Planner handles material requisitions, working with contractors to maintain the schedule and project closeout.Key AccountabilitiesConstruction Schedule Management. Ensure projects are ready to be executed and work with contractors and internal stakeholders for safe and efficient project completion. Reporting any issues with contractors and construction schedules. Working with adjacent business units to remove any obstcacles in scheduling or executing projects in work plans. Ensure project closeout procedures are followed in a timley fasion.Vendor Management. Assure positive working relationship with contractors. Working with contract specialists to ensure contract compliance and provide feedback and/or participate in performance reviews. Material Management. Work with procurement to ensure materials are properly forecasted and ordered to have ready for project initiation through completion.Active communication, to include formal meetings at regular intervals, with contractors and internal National Grid Stakholders. Effectively communicate plans, issues and praise for the efficient completion of program projects under annual workplan. Storm Support. Support weather related incidents to include storm crew assigments, crew transfer sheets, and other storm supports functions as needed. Actively participate in and provide feedback for process improvement. Administor, manage systems and databases as it pertains to the the role.Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.• Proven contribution to project and team membership and leadership.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Planning, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or equivalent eduation and experience.Candidate would ideally have experience in programmatic construction work.Scheduling and managing contractors on projects against annual work plans.Contractor performance review experience.Experience in multisource customer facing role within an organization.Technical understanding of the work being planned and managed.Detail oriented with excellent organizational and administrative skills.Microsoft office and strong systems usage experience.
